Helping Families Keep More, Spend Less, & Live Fairer.

Who we are
The 22:23 Community Interest Company was created to make things fairer for ordinary households who’ve had enough of rising energy costs and empty promises.
We’re a UK based non-profit Community Interest Company, built on straight dealing and community spirit.
We don’t chase profit or power — we build trust.
Our role is simple: to help families save money and take back a bit of control in a system that too often forgets them.
Our purpose
We believe fair access to affordable energy is a basic need — not a luxury.
That’s why we operate in a similar way to a charity — no profit, no shareholders — supplying home battery systems at cost so families can take control of their bills by storing cheaper night-time energy and using it during the day, when electricity can cost up to four times as much.
Every decision we make is guided by one simple idea: people before profit.

What's in a name?
Why 22:23
The name 'The 22:23' is deliberately multi-layered.
It reflects 2022–23, when the UK’s energy crisis exposed deep unfairness — the moment that inspired our commitment to make sure such hardship isn’t repeated.
In numerology, 22 represents structure and balance, while 23 symbolises vitality and progress.
Together, they express the Foundation’s purpose: rebuilding fair systems and helping households move forward.
Across different faiths, the numbers 22 and 23 are linked with fairness, compassion, and protection — shared values that unite people of all beliefs.
Even visually, the colon in 22:23 suggests connection or energy — a small spark between two points.
A name that unites.
Meet the team
The 22:23 Community Interest Company is governed and steered by individuals who believe fairness and transparency should power everything we do.
Each of our members bring their own experience and integrity to ensure that every penny, policy, and project serves the public good.
We operate with an additional layer of oversight through appointed Members, similar in principle to trustees. While not required to go beyond standard reporting, we have chosen to do so in the interests of transparency and public confidence.
Members provide independent oversight, help review governance and financial stewardship, and vote on how any hardship or surplus funds are applied locally — whether supporting families facing serious illness, homelessness initiatives, or other community needs.

Our lead Patron & Ambassador
Former world champion and olympian Derek Redmond stands with The 22:23 Community Interest Company because he believes in fairness, honesty, and community.
He knows what it means to face challenges and keep going — and he shares that same spirit with the
families we help.
For Derek, it’s simple: when people look out for one another, everyone moves forward.

A message from our founder
"This project matters to me personally.
Some people may already know me or my past work. If you’ve ever used Oven Pride, then in a small way, you already do.
Alongside my working life, I’ve long been involved in philanthropy and homelessness-focused causes, and always guided by my faith in our Lord.
I’m all for profit where it belongs — on good ideas and things people want.
But when it comes to essentials — the things we all need, like water and energy — I believe fairness should come before profit margins and shareholder benefit.
That belief sits at the heart of this project."

Fair & Transparent
Our model is deliberately different. Supplying accredited 'grid ready' home battery systems at cost, challenges commercial norms and will no doubt invite scrutiny from the industry. We welcome that.
By being open about how our model works, how costs are structured, and how governance decisions are made, we prefer to let the facts speak for themselves. Transparency isn’t a defence, it’s how trust is built.
As part of our commitment to transparency and good governance, our Articles of Association are publicly available. These set out how the organisation is run, how decisions are made, and how members help guide our purpose and use of any reserves.
We believe being open about how we operate is an important part of building trust and showing how seriously we take our responsibilities as a non-profit organisation.

Lower bills aren’t a dream. They’re a decision.
We began with a simple idea — that ordinary people, working together, can build something powerful and have a real impact.
That spirit still drives everything we do.
Because real change doesn’t come from profit or corporate power — it comes from empowered people.
